O �� NN Hs RESOLUTION NO. 2009-842 tr; ft-1 RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE USE OF ARRA FUNDS s E- FOR DEVELOPMENT OF THE RIVER RENAISSANCE os rn < TRAIL FROM WASHINGTON STREET TO 18TH STREET • O ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE CEDAR RIVER IN ;r C t7, tr, WATERLOO. ¢ a; O E- a' x - ,7-- WHEREAS, the Black Hawk Metropolitan Area has been G; developing a network of multi-use trails for several years; and C/1 - WHEREAS, development of multi-use trails and the riverwalk asmoeiated with the River Renaissance project is an important component of this trail network; and WHEREAS, ARRA funding is available through the Black Hawk h trOpolitan Area Transportation Policy Board and the City of Werloo is in need of such assistance in order to fully develop Vis' trail; and '7- :-- --WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo certifies that this multi-use trail is within its jurisdiction and will remain dedicated to pubilic use and further that the City of Waterloo will have ursdictional responsibility and will adequately maintain the Multi-use trail for a minimum of 20 years . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the City of Waterloo endorses said project, and that with assistance of ARRA funds, the development of the multi-use trail will be completed and will remain dedicated to public use and adequately maintained.
