RESOLUTION NO. 2019-681
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE RECOMMENDATION OF
THE LEISURE SERVICES DIRECTOR TO REJECT THE BID
OF DON GARDNER CONSTRUCTION, OF WATERLOO,
IOWA, TOTALING $197,475, DUE TO THE BID AMOUNT
EXCEEDING THE PROJECT BUDGET.
WHEREAS, by Resolution 2019-679, plans, specifications, form of contract, etc., in
conjunction with the FY 2019 Young Arena Roof Replacement Project, Contract No. 998, in the
City of Waterloo, Iowa, were approved and adopted by this Council after a public hearing as
prescribed by statute, and
WHEREAS, a bid was submitted by Don Gardner Construction, of Waterloo, Iowa, in the
amount of$197,475, in conjunction with the FY 2019 Young Arena Roof Replacement Project,
Contract No. 998, and
WHEREAS, the Leisure Services Director recommends the bid of Don Gardner
Construction be rejected as the bid amount exceeds the estimated construction costs of$102,000,
in conjunction with the FY 2019 Young Arena Roof Replacement Project, Contract No. 998.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the recommendation of the Leisure Services Director, to reject the bid
of Don Gardner Construction, in the amount of $197,475, in conjunction with the FY 2019
Young Arena Roof Replacement Project, Contract No. 998, be approved.
