AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, 9Y REPEALING SU7SECTION 7-50, APPREHENSION
AND IMPOUNMIENT OF DOGS OR CATS AT LARGE: NOTICE, OF CHAPTER 7,
ANIMALS AND FOWL: AND BY ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW
SUBSECTION 7-50, APPRFHENSIO AND IMPOUNDMENT OF DOGS OR CATS
AT LARGE: NOTICE, OF CHAPTER 7, ANIMALS AND FOWL.
RE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa:
That Subsection 7-50, Apprehension and Impoundment of Dons or Cats at
Large; Notice, of Chanter 7, Animals and Fowl, of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is hereby repealed in its
entirety° that new Subsection 7-50, Apprehension and Impoundment of
Dogs or Cats at Large Notice, of Chapter 7, Animals and Fowl, of the
Code of Ordinances of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is hereby enacted
in lieu thereof as follows:
Sec. 7-50. Apprehension and Impoundment of Dogs or Cats at Large:
Any dog or cat found running at large and wearinn a license tag
and valid rabies vaccination tag may he apprehended and impounded.
Any don or cat runninn at larne and not wearing a license tag and a
valid rabies vaccination tag may he apprehended and may be impounded.
When such dog or cat nas been aporehended or impounded, the Humane
Society Office or Waterloo Animal Control shall (ive written notice
in not more than two (2) days to the owner, if known. If the owner
does not redeem the dog or cat within seven (7) days of the date of
the notice, the dog or cat may he humanely destroyed or otherwise
disposed of in accordance with the law.

1986, and approved by the mayor this lEth day of October,
1986.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City
Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa:
That Subsection 7-50, Ap-
prehension and Impoundment of
Dogs or Cats at Large; Notice, of
Chapter 7, Animals and Fowl, of
the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Waterloo, Iowa, is hereby re-
pealed in its entirety; that new
Subsection 7-50, Apprehension
and Impoundment of Dogs or Cats
at Large; Notice, of Chapter 7,
Animals and Fowl, of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Water-
loo, Iowa, is hereby enacted in lieu
thereof as follows:
Sec. 7-50. Apprehension and Im-
poundment of Dogs or Cats at
Large: Notice.
Any dog or cat found running at
large and wearing a license tag
and valid rabies vaccination tag •
may be apprehended and Im-
pounded. Any dog or cat running
at large and not wearing a license
tag and a valid rabies vaccination
tag may be apprehended and may
be impounded. When such dog or
cat has been apprehended or im-
