AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2007 CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, BY
REPEALING SUBSECTION (B), COMPOSITION OF
BOARD, OF SECTION 9-1A-3, GENERAL CONTRACTORS
BOARD OF LICENSING, EXAMINERS AND APPEALS, OF
ARTICLE A, BUILDING CONTRACTORS, OF CHAPTER
1, BUILDING CODE, OF TITLE 9, BUILDING
REGULATIONS; AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF NEW
SUBSECTION (B), COMPOSITION OF BOARD, OF
SECTION 9-1A-3, GENERAL CONTRACTORS BOARD OF
LICENSING, EXAMINERS AND APPEALS, OF ARTICLE
A, BUILDING CONTRACTORS, OF CHAPTER 1,
BUILDING CODE, OF TITLE 9, BUILDING
REGULATIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA:
That Subsection (B), Composition of Board, of Section 9-1A-
3, General Contractors Board of Licensing, Examiners and Appeals,
of Article A, Building Contractors, of Chapter 1, Building Code,
of Title 9, Building Regulations, of the 2007 Code of Ordinances
of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, be and the same is hereby repealed
in its entirety; that a new Subsection (B), Composition of Board,
of Section 9-1A-3, General Contractors Board of Licensing,
Examiners and Appeals, of Article A, Building Contractors, of
Chapter 1, Building Code, of Title 9, Building Regulations, is
hereby enacted in lieu thereof as follows:
CHAPTER 1
BUILDING CODE
ARTICLE A: BUILDING CONTRACTORS
9-1A-3: GENERAL CONTRACTORS BOARD OF LICENSING, EXAMINERS AND
APPEALS:
B. Composition of Board: The board shall consist of nine
(9) members, all of whose place of business or
residence is located in Black Hawk County. All members
shall be qualified by experience and training to
evaluate applicants for testing. The membership shall
be as follows: two (2) residential contractors, two
(2) commercial contractors, one (1) design professional
(construction related), one (1) roofing contractor, one
(1) fire protection engineering professionals, one (1)
industrial safety professional, and one (1) at large.
The building official shall act as secretary to the
board. No one company or interest shall have more than
one member on the board. The fire marshal shall serve
as ex officio member, with no voting rights.

the Mayor on the 18th day of June, 2008.
