Getty Council Chambers Members present: Cole, Jones (arrived after roll call), Schmitt, Morrissey, Welper, and Hart. Absent: Lind. Moved by Hart, seconded by Schmitt that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Six. Motion carried. Complete Streets Advisory Committee Update - Propose Projects. Felicia Cass, Complete Streets Advisory Committee Chairperson, explained the ten elements ofa complete street policy, the accomplishments of the committees to date, and the priorities for future projects. The4 focus is on reconstruction projects including Highway 63 Overpass, Highway 63 South Trail access, Esther Street, West Park Lane, Williston Avenue, Johnson Street, and Bethel Street/Ridgeway Avenue. They are also working on the MPO Pedestrian Master Plan Update. Wayne Castle, Associate Engineer, reviewed the projects. The estimated cost of Esther Street improvements near George Washington Carver School is $85,000 to improve and add'additional sidewalk. West Park Avenue near Hoover Middle and Henry Elementary School need additional sidewalks for an estimated cost of $50,000. The third project is a small section of missing sidewalk on Williston Avenue near Lowell School for an estimated cost of $7,000. Johnson Street near Irving School and Grace Lutheran Church is another smaller section of missing sidewalk for approximately $20,000.The final proposed project is on Bethel Street and Ridgeway Avenue near Kittrel School needs a couple of areas of sidewalk for approximately $60,000. Felicia Casg asked that Council fund`these projects in the 2017 budget. Ms. Cole and Mr. Morrissey spoke in support of the projects and thanked the committee for their work. With no further business before the Council, it was moved by Hart, seconded by Schmitt that the meeting be adjourned at 4:49 p.m. _Ayes: Six. Motion carried.
