RESOLUTION NO. 2019-981
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO TRICON
GENERAL CONSTRUCTION, INC., OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, IN
THE AMOUNT OF $3,808,500, AND APPROVING THE
CONTRACT, BONDS, AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE
IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2020 VIRDEN CREEK
LEVEE IMPROVEMENTS, CONTRACT NO. 947, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Tricon General Construction, Inc., of Dubuque, Iowa, submitted a bid in the
amount of $3,808,500, in conjunction with the FY 2020 Virden Creek Levee Improvements,
Contract No. 947, and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Tricon General Construction, Inc., submitted a written contract, bond and
certificate of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project
with Resolution No. 2019-952, after public hearing on December 16, 2019, in conjunction with
the FY 2020 Virden Creek Levee Improvements, Contract No. 947.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Tricon General Construction, Inc., in the amount of $3,808,500, in
conjunction with the FY 2020 Virden Creek Levee Improvements, Contract No. 947, is
hereby awarded.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Tricon General
Construction, Inc., in conjunction with the FY 2020 Virden Creek Levee Improvements,
Contract No. 947, are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 30th day of December 2019.
