RESOLUTION NO. 2012-916
RESOLUTION GRANTING REQUEST OF ORGANIZING FOR
AMERICA FOR A VARIANCE TO ORDINANCE NO. 3094,
NOISE ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, Organizing for America is requesting a variance to
the Noise Ordinance on September 22, 2012 from 10 : 00 a.m. to 4 : 00
p.m. , in conjunction with Obamafest event to be held at Lincoln
Park, including a band and the use of a PA system, with
recommendation and approval of the Director of Safety Services,
and
WHEREAS, said event will exceed the limits of the Ordinance
No. 3094, Noise Ordinance, and
WHEREAS, said Organizing for America has made formal
application for a variance effective September 22, 2012 from
10 : 00 a.m. to 4 : 00 p.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of Organizing for America for a
variance to Ordinance No. 3094, Noise Ordinance, on September 22,
2012 from 10 : 00 a.m. to 4 : 00 p.m. , in conjunction with Obamafest
event to be held at Lincoln Park, including a band and the use of
a PA system, be and the same hereby granted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of September, 2012 .
