RESOLUTION NO. 2020-128
RESOLUTION SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING AS
APRIL 6, 2020 TO RATIFY AND AFFIRM CERTAIN ACTIONS
WITH RESPECT TO THE VIRDEN CREEK DRAINAGE
PROJECT, TO ESTABLISH THE AMOUNT OF JUST
COMPENSATION FOR CERTAIN PROPERTY INTERESTS
TO BE ACQUIRED FOR PROJECT PURPOSES, AND TO
AUTHORIZE THE USE OF CONDEMNATION PROCEDURES
FOR ACQUISITION OF SAID PROPERTY INTERESTS IN
FURTHERANCE OF THE PROJECT OBJECTIVES, AND
INSTRUCT CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH SAID NOTICE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa shall meet in the Harold E.
Getty Council Chambers at City Hall, Waterloo, Iowa at 5:30 p.m. on the 6th day of April 2020,
to ratify and affirm certain actions, with respect to the Virden Creek Drainage Project, to
establish the amount of just compensation for certain property interests to be acquired for project
purposes, and to authorize the use of condemnation procedures, for acquisition of said property
interests, in furtherance of the project objectives.
Section 2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of the time and place
of said hearing and bid opening in the Waterloo Courier.
