RESOLUTION NO. 2020-131
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF CONTRACT
TO DAVE SCHMITT CONSTRUCTION CO. INC., OF CEDAR
RAPIDS, IOWA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $115,029, AND
APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BONDS, AND CERTIFICATE
OF INSURANCE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2020 LOT
2, BROCK 3RD ADDITION SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION,
CONTRACT NO. 986, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Dave Schmitt Construction Co. Inc., of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, submitted a bid
in the amount of$115,029, in conjunction with the FY 2020 Lot 2, Brock 3rd Addition Sanitary
Sewer Extension, Contract No. 986, and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Dave Schmitt Construction Co. Inc., submitted a written contract, bond and
certificate of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted bythis Council for said project
with Resolution No. 2020-106, after public hearing on February 17, 2020, in conjunction with
the FY 2020 Lot 2, Brock 3rd Addition Sanitary Sewer Extension, Contract No. 986.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Dave Schmitt Construction Co. Inc., in the amount of$115,029, in
conjunction with the FY 2020 Lot 2, Brock 3rd Addition Sanitary Sewer Extension, Contract No.
986, is hereby awarded.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Dave Schmitt
Construction Co. Inc., in conjunction with the FY 2020 Lot 2, Brock 3rd Addition Sanitary
Sewer Extension, Contract No. 986, are hereby approved, and the Mayor and City Clerk are
authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 24th day of February 2020.
