RESOLUTION NO. 2020-143
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FYE 2021 BUDGET
MAXIMUM PROPERTY TAX LEVY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa has considered the proposed
FY 2021 city maximum property tax dollars for the affected levy total, and
WHEREAS, a notice concerning the proposed city maximum property tax dollars was
published in the Waterloo Courier February 20, 2020, and posted on the city web site and social
media account, as required by law, and
WHEREAS, a public hearing concerning the proposed city maximum property tax dollars
was held on March 2, 2020.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the maximum property tax dollars for the affected tax levies for FY
2021 shall not exceed the following total:
Total maximum levy for affected property tax levies - $36,365,972.00
The Maximum Property Tax dollars requested in the total maximum levy for affected
property tax levies for FY 2021 represents greater than 102% (108%) of the Maximum Property
Tax dollars requested for the year ending June 30,2020. The roll was called and the vote was,
AYES: Grieder, Juon, Boesen, Amos, Morrissey and Feuss
NAYS: Klein
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2°d day of March 2020.
