Getty Council Chambers Members present: Boesen, Amos, Morrissey, Klein, Grieder, and Juon. Absent: Feuss Moved by Morrissey seconded by Grieder that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Voice -vote Ayes: Six. Motion carried. Objective: Discussion of MET Transit funding for the FYE2021 budget. Mark Little, MET Transit, provide an overview of their operations, funding streams, and the three percent budget increase they are requesting from the City of Waterloo. Code Leseman, INRCOG, provided an overview of proposed bus route restructuring. Mayor Hart and council member then discussed MET Transit funding for the FYE2021 budget with Mark Little and Michelle Weidner, Chief Financial Officer. Objective: Discussion of the FYE 2021 bud et. Michelle Weidner provided a handout to council explaining how other large cities in Iowa utilize Local Option Sales Tax funds. Waterloo puts 100% of the revenue toward street repair along with Council Bluffs, Cedar Falls, and Cedar Rapids. Eight cities allocate a portion of their funds toward property tax relief, and two of the fifteen largest cities do not have a Local Option Sales Tax funds. Council members and Mayor Hart discussed local option sales tax funding and the FYE2021 budget with Michelle Weidner. With no further business before the Council, it was moved by Boesen seconded by Amos that the meeting be adjourned at 4:59 p.m. Voice -vote Ayes: Six. Motion carried. Kelley Felch City Clerk
