RESOLUTION NO. 2020-186
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF CONTRACT
TO PETERSON CONTRACTORS, INC., OF REINBECK,
IOWA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $14,387,651.08, AND
APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BONDS, AND CERTIFICATE
OF INSURANCE FOR THE FY 2020 UNIVERSITY AVENUE
RECONSTRUCTION - PHASE 3, CONTRACT NO. 971, AND
AUTHORIZING MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE
SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Peterson Contractors, Inc., of Reinbeck, Iowa, submitted a bid in the amount
of$14,387,651.08, in conjunction with the FY 2020 University Avenue Reconstruction- Phase
3, Contract No. 971, and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Peterson Contractors, Inc., submitted a written contract, bond and certificate
of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project with
Resolution No. 2020-141, after public hearing on March 2, 2020, in conjunction with the
FY 2020 University Avenue Reconstruction- Phase 3, Contract No. 971.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Peterson Contractors, Inc., in the amount of $14,387,651.08, in
conjunction with the FY 2020 University Avenue Reconstruction- Phase 3, Contract No. 971, is
hereby awarded.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Peterson
Contractors, Inc., in conjunction with the FY 2020 University Avenue Reconstruction- Phase 3,
Contract No. 971, are hereby approved, and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed
to execute said documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of March 2020.
