ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2644, KNOWN AS THE TRAFFIC
ORDINANCE BY ADDING SECTION 4, PENALTIES FOR MISDEMEANORS.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa:
That Section 4, Penalties for Misdemeanors, is hereby added to
Ordinance No. 2644, known as the Traffic Ordinances of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, as follows:
SEC. 4. PENALTIES FOR MISDEMEANORS
It is a misdemeanor for any person to do any act forbidden or to
fail to perform any act required by any of the provisions of this ordinance
unless any such violation is by this ordinance or other law of this state
declared to be a felony. Chapter 232, Code of Iowa, 1977, shall have
no application in the prosecution of offenses committed in violation of
this ordinance which are punishable by a fine of not more than $100.00,
or by imprisonment for not more than thirty (30) days.
Every person convicted of a misdemeanor for a violation of the
provisions of this ordinance for which another penalty is not provided
shall be punished by a fine of not more than $100.00 or by imprisonment
for not more than thirty (30) days.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council this / day of November,
1978, and approved by the Mayor this day of November, 1978.
