ORDINANCE NO. • ,
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 102, EXAMINATION TIME AND FEES,
OF ORDINANCE NO. 2021, GAS PIPING CODE, AND ENACTING IN LIEU
THEREOF NEW SECTION 102, EXAMINATION TIME AND FEES, THERETO.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa:
That Section 102, Examination Time and Fees, of Ordinance No. 2021,
Gas Piping Code, is hereby repealed in its entirety; and that new Section
102, Examination Time and Fees, of Ordinance No. 2021, Gas Piping Code,
is enacted in lieu thereof as follows:
Section 102 - Examination Time and Fees
1. Examination dates shall be set by the Plumbing Inspection Department
at their discretion except that any date shall not be set to exceed 90 days
from the date any individual makes known to the Plumbing Inspection
Department his desire to take such examination.
2. Examination fees shall be $5.00 per person and if a passing
grade is indicated a gas fitter's permit card will be issued becoming
invalid on May 1st following. Gas fitter's permit cards shall not be
transferable. There shall be no refund of examination fee upon failure
to pass examination and the individual upon failure to pass an examination
shall be required to wait 90 days before becoming eligible to take another
examination. The grading of papers and the issuing of gas fitter's permit
cards shall be the responsibility of the City Plumbing Board.
3. All gas fitter's permit cards become invalid May 1st of each
year and renewal fee shall be $3.00. A grace period of 30 days only
shall be allowed for renewal. Examinations shall not be required for
renewals of gas fitter's permit cards within the specified time limit.
