JS SJii AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PLUMBING COEE OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, BY REPEALING ARTICLE XV, INSPECTION FEES; ARTICLE XIV, SECTION 3; ARTICLE XVI, SECTION 4; ARTICLE XVI, SECTION 10; AND ARTICLE XVI, SECTION 13; AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF NEW ARTICLE XV, INSPECTION FEES; ARTICLE XIV, SECTION 3; ARTICLE XVI, SECTION 4; ARTICLE XVI, SECTION 10; AND ARTICLE XVI, SECTION 13. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa: That Article XV, Inspection Fees; Article XIV, Section 3; Article XVI, Section 4; Article XVI, Section 10; and Article XVI, Section 13, of the Plumbing Code of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, are hereby repealed in their entirety; and that new Article XV, Inspection Fees; Article XIV, Section 3, Article XVI, Section 4; Article XVI, Section 10; and Article XVI, Section 13, are hereby enacted in lieu thereof as follows: ARTICLE XV Inspection Fees Collection of Inspection Fees - Statements for inspection fees will be rendered by the plumbing inspector on or about the first day of each month and shall be paid by the fifteenth day of the same month. If not paid on or before the prescribed date, permission to do work under the license granted shall be automatically cancelled, no further inspections made, and collection of fees due will be made through the bond of the delinquent. (b) It shall be the duty of the plumber to make sure that the work will stand the test prescribed before giving the above notification. (c) If the plumbing inspector finds that the work will not stand the test, the plumber shall be required to re-notify as above. (d) A fee of ten dollars ($10.00) shall be charged for each reinspection trip made necessary by: 1. Failure to give correct address. 2. Condemned work resulting from faulty construction. 3. Work not ready when inspection is called. ARTICLE XVI Section 4 - Applicants who have been issued a certificate of competency by the Waterloo plumber's examining board shall be certified to the city clerk of the City of Waterloo, who shall, upon the payment of an additional fee of $75.00 and the posting of bonds as herein provided for, issue to such applicant a master plumber's business license. Section 10 - Journeyman plumbers licenses shall expire at twelve o'clock midnight on the 31st day of December each year, and may be renewed on their expiration by the payment (in advance) of an annual renewal fee of $5.00. Master plumbers licenses shall expire at twelve o'clock midnight on the 31st day of December each year, and may be renewed on their expiration by payment (in advance) of an annual renewal fee of $10.00. Apprentice Plumber Registration $5.00 Apprentice plumber registration shall expire at twelve o'clock midnight on the 31st day of December each year, and may be renewed on their expiration by the payment (in advance) of an annual renewal fee of $3.00. Master plumbers business license and bonds shall expire at twelve o'clock midnight on the 31st day of December of each year and may be renewed on their expiration by payment of an annual renewal fee of $75.00. Section 13 - Renewal of Certificate of Competency shall be issued by plumbers examining board upon application for the sum of $10.00, such application to be in writing or in person on or before April 25th of each year. Such renewals shall be certified to the city clerk prior to the issuance of annual master plumbers business licenses. No holder of a master plumbers business license who has no established place of business in Waterloo, Iowa, or who is not actively engaged in the plumbing business shall be entited to such a renewal.
