Members absent: Robinson. Also present: Rodney Wessely, Chuck Peyton, and Suzy Schares. Moved by Miller, seconded by Hastings that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Twelve. Citizens Oral Comments Jim Lenford thanked the USS Juneau Reunion. Treasurer's Report Marcia Courbat requested a transaction report be provided each month. Moved by Dennis, seconded by McMahon to pay the Black Hawk Memorial Invoices in the amount of $150.00 and $500.00 and to reimburse Mr. Hasting's in the amount of $32.10 for purchasing flowers. Ayes: Twelve. Moved by McMahon, seconded by Ticknor to approve payment to the Memorial Board in the amount of $450.00 to purchase flags. Ayes: Twelve. Chairperson's Report Mr. White thanked the commission for helping with the reunions. Committee Reports Building, Grounds & Operations —Richard Hastings asked to store the flag swags in the area outside of the kitchen. He will work with the City to get a ladder and suggested getting new holders for the flags. Mr. Hurtado announced that someone is coming to look at the fountain. Education/Historical — Mr. Miller reported that the Juneau reunion took a tour. He asked for suggestions for the Veteran's Day event. He noted that the sound system is installed and is working good. He thanked Mr. Hastings for the work he is doing in the office. Finance/Fundraising — Ms. Courbat is submitting a letter of intent in September to the Black Hawk County Gaming Board for a grant to pay for printing the programs and additional cemetery flags. With no further business before the commission, it was moved by Dennis, seconded by Ambrosy that the meeting be adjourned at 5:25 p.m. Ayes: Twelve. Suzy Schares City Clerk
