AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 1453, PROVIDING SANITARY AND HEALTH
REGULATIONS FOR BARBERSHOPS AND ESTABLISHMENTS Q BY REPEALING
IN ITS ENTIRETY, SECTION 4 KNOWN AS SECTION 23-16 BARBERSHOPS: LICENSE
REQUIRED; LICENSE FEE; WHEN INSPECTION REQUIRED; FEES; IN THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES, CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW
SECTION 42 KNOWN AS SECTION 23-16 IN THE CODE OF ORDINANCES.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk
County, Iowa :
Section 1. That Section 4 of Ordinance No. 1453, known as Section 23-16
in the Code of Ordinances, City of Waterloo, Iowa, be and the same is
hereby repealed in its entirety and the following Section 4 of Ordinance
No. 1453, known as Section 23-16 in the Code of Ordinances, City of
Waterloo, Iowa, enacted in lieu thereof:
Section 23-16: Barbershops: License required; license fee; when
inspection required; inspection fee.
The owner, manager, or person in charge of each barbershop, beauty shop,
hair styling salon, hair styling college or hair styling school shall
annually be required to obtain a license therefor, and pay a license fee
of twenty dollars ($20.00) . Establishments opened after the effective
date of this Ordinance must comply with all applicable state laws and
be approved and inspected by the city sanitary inspector prior to
opening for business. The inspection fee for said inspection shall be
twenty-five dollars ($25.00) . After the first year of business, the
yearly license renewal fee shall be twenty dollars ($20.00) . Moneys
received pursuant to this Ordinance shall be deposited in the general
fund of the city.
