Background Information: Request authorization to begin the Civil Service process to fill
working Mechanic Foreman position at the Central Garage. This would be a promotional
position for a current on board employee and no back -fill of a mechanic is expected at this time.
Additional expense for this promotion was approved in the FY15 operational budget.

SUBJECT: Maintenance Mechanic

Recommended City Council Action: Requesting authorization to initiate the Civil Service process
to fill an existing position of Maintenance Mechanic due to a recent retirement. Upon approval of
a certified list by the Civil Service Commission, I also propose to request approval of appointment
from this list directly to Council.
