Summary Statement: I am requesting permission to begin the process to fill 5 new positions. 2 of the 5 positions will be promotional, so there will be 3 new hires. This action was approved by the Personnel Requisition Committee on August 7, 2013. Expenditure Required: A total of $241,934 plus benefits will be the total amount. Source of Funds: These positions are proportionately funded in the current SportsPlex and Sports Division Operating budgets. This position will assume responsibility for maintaining the facility on a daily basis. Will provide supervision to a large number of seasonal staff. Will also assume responsibility for day to day efforts at outdoor sports facihies such as Riverfront Sports Park and Byrnes Tennis Center. What are the likely consequences if the position is not filled? With the opening of a new facility it will be crucial to have a point person for maintaining the building on a daily basis. Full time custodial staffwill not be hired, so a great deal of supervision will be required for seasonal staff.
