Permission to hire to fill a vacancy of Police Officer from the current
Dan Trelka, Director of Safety Services
Recommended City Council Action: Approval to hire a Police Officer to fill a
vacancy from the current civil service list.
Summary Statement: On April 3o, 2012, Officer Jamie Cox resigned from the Police
Department. We have a current civil service list and are requesting to hire a replacement
for that position.
Expenditure Required:
Source of Funds: General Fund
Policy Issue: None
Alternative: None.
Background Information: This is a budgeted position and to maintain our
current staffing levels, lessens the cost of overtime, and to fulfill the requirements
of the federal COPPS grant, we are requesting to fill this vacancy.
