SUBJECT: Request to fill funded vacancy for Park Maintenance II -Forestry Position
Submitted by: Paul Huting, Leisure Services Director
Recommended Action: Request Human Resources Committee approval to take appointment of
PM II -Forestry to City Council.
Summary Statement: I am requesting authorization to make appointment to a vacant and
currently funded Park Maintenance II -Forestry position from an existing Civil Service List.
Expenditure Required: $22.24 per hour plus associated benefits
Source of Funds: Leisure Services Operating budget.

Background Information: This position is funded in the FY12 & FY13 operating budget. There
is a current Civil Service List for Park Maintenance II -Forestry. The Personnel Requisition Form
for the filling of this vacant position has been signed by all members and approved.

Summary Statement: I am requesting authorization to make an appointment to the
position of Park Maintenance IV -Plumber from a current Civil
Service list.
Expenditure Required: Current rate of pay after probation is $24.68 per hour + full
benefits package. This rate does not include 1.9% negotiated
increase effective 7/ 1/ 12

Background Information: This is replacement for Leisure Services Plumber who retired.
Maintenance positions currently working out of Leisure Services will be consolidated with other
City maintenance to better serve City buildings.

Background Information: Merger of the Maintenance Department and Leisure Services to
better serve city buildings. After taking applications and interviewing candidates, Josh Fuller
was chosen for the position.
