SUBJECT: Request to Initiate Civil Service Process - Park Maintenance IV -Plumber
Submitted by: Paul Huting, Leisure Services Director
Recommended City Council Action: Approval to begin the Civil Service Process for Park
Maintenance IV, Plumber for Leisure Services
Summary Statement: I am requesting permission to move forward with the Civil Service process to fill
the currently funded position of Park Maintenance IV- Plumber. It is anticipated this position will be
vacant soon due to the retirement of Joe Traywick.
After a Civil Service List has been certified for this position I come back to Human Resources for
permission to fill the position.
Expenditure Required: Ongoing funding of budgeted position at the rate of $24.68 per hour.
Source of Funds: Leisure Services Operating budget

Background Information: Personnel Requisition form is attached. This was approved 11/1/11.
This position is critical to maintenance of water systems for 50 parks and multiple sports facilities.
Additional facilities such as a new spray park are coming on line this year.
