SUBJECT: Appointment of Director of Safety Services
Submitted by: Mayor Buck Clark
Recommended City Council Action: Authorize appointment to newly created position of
Director of Safety Services.
Summary Statement: As per Ordinance approved 1/10/11
Expenditure Required: Salary of current Police Chief will increase $12,000 per year, but
will be offset by reorganization of Police and Fire Rescue Depts.
Source of Funds: Budgeted Police/Fire
Policy Issue:
Alternative: Remain with current organization of Police and Fire Rescue Depts.
Background Information: As per amended Ordinance new Article F - Department of Safety
Services

Moved by Cole, seconded by Hart that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three.
Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Hart that Request from Mayor for authorization to make an
appointment to the position of Director of Safety Services, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion
carried.
With no further business before the committee, it was moved by Hart, seconded by Cole that the
meeting be adjourned at 4:49 p.m. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
