Briefly explain your qualifications for appointment to a designated Board/Commission:
As an employee of the public school district 1 work with the Center for Arts on a regular basis. I feel that
by serving on this commission I will be able to better support the District and the Center with both of their
missions.

The Waterloo Schools and the Center for the Arts work in collaboration on an annual community event
call CultureFest which is a showcase of the cultures in the community and school district.

Mr. Quirk's term will expire December 31, 2014, to conform to existing Operation Threshold
member terms.
[City shall appoint one (1) member]
• Shall provide oversight for the business, property, and affairs of Operation Threshold, a private, non-
profit Community Action Agency.
• Per Federal guidelines, the fifteen -member Board of Directors shall be made up of one-third
consumer representatives, one-third private sector representatives, and one-third local elected
officials or their designees. The public sector representatives are appointed for a one-year term,
without a limit on the number of terms.
• Meetings are held: Third Thursday of the odd numbered months at 5:00 p.m.
