Recommended City Council Action: Appoint Dan Gillen, appointee from Hawkeye
Community College to the Enterprise Zone Commission replacing Galen Howsare with a term
expiration date of 1/10/14.
Summary Statement: Enterprise Zone Commission members are required to come from several
different community groups including members appointed from Hawkeye Community
College. Dan Gillen is interested in being appointed to the Enterprise Zone
Commission and would be replacing Galen Howsare.

Alternative: Do not appoint applicant and seek additional applications.
Background Information: Dan Gillen replaced Galen Howsare as the new Vice President of
Administration and Finance for Hawkeye Community College.
