SUBJECT: Appointment to Historic Preservation Commission

Recommended Committee Action:
1. Appoint Kathy Linda to the Historic Preservation Commission with a term
expiration date of 4/18/2014.
Summary Statement: Kathy Linda is interested in being appointed to the Commission and
would be filling one of the vacant positions on the Commission. As of the date of this
document, there are no additional applications on file for the Historic Preservation
Commission.

Alternative: Do not appoint this applicant and seek additional applications.
Background Information: Kathy Linda has lived in Waterloo for 35 years and currently
works for the Cedar Valley Arboretum. Kathy lives in a historic neighborhood and has an
interest in creating awareness, appreciation and opportunities to preserve Waterloo's vast
history.
