A moderately alkaline material, it -is added to caustic soda or caustic potash solutions and enables them to remove paint which they would not normally attack. When added to hot alkaline immersion strippers, it can reduce stripping time and prolong the life of the solution. A versatile, inexpensive product, STRIP ADD RWP will give paint stripping ability to alkaline immersion cleaners -- even inhibited aluminum cleaners_ HOW TO USE Before using the product, please read this Data Sheet carefully. STRIP ADD RWP is added to the primary solution at a concentration of 10 gallons to 15 gallons per 100 gallons (e.g., 30 gallons liquid caustic, 10 gallons STRIP ADD RWP, 60 gallons water). The temperature range is from 160 to 200°F. Mild steel equipment is acceptable. NO It,: The above is based upon standard industrial use. Some production operations may require other operating instructions. The Chemical Processing and Accessories representative will decide the best way to use this product based upon production requirements. INITIAL CHARGE Predetermine how much water, primary chemical, and STRIP .ADD RWP are required. Add the required amount of room temperature water. Do not heat above 100°F. Slowly add the primary chemical and stir. Then carefully add the STRIP ADD RWP, stirring to assure a complete mixture. Raise the temperature of the tank to operating temperature. A moderately alkaline, material, it can be used as a base to strip metals such as aluminum or zinc.. It is an inhibited product which allows these metals to be stripped easily. It must be used with a solvent/plasticizer blend. HOW TO USE Before using -the product, please read this Data Sheet and the MSDS carefully. STRIP BASE is added to the primary solution at a concentration of 10 gallons to 20 gallons per 100 gallons (e.g., 30 gallons liquid STRIP BASE, 300 gallons water). The temperature range is from. 160 to 200°F. Parts are immersed for as long as necessary. Time will depend upon the type and amount of paint to be removed. The parts are then rinsed with water for 30 to 60 seconds. Tanks, heating coils, and baskets can be constructed of mild steel. Agitation of the solution enhances and speeds up the stripping ability of STRIP BASE. NOTE: The above is based upon standard industrial use. Some production operations may require other operating instructions. The Chemical Processing & Accessories representative will decide the best way to use this product based upon production requirements. INITIAL CI3ARGE Predetermine how much water, STRIP BASE and additive are required. Add the required amount of room terperature water. Do not heat above 100°F. Slowly add the primary chemical and stir. Then carefully add the additive, stirring to assure a complete mixture. Raise the temperature of the tank to operating temperature. MYMAINTENANCE The concentration of STRIP BASE should be maintained to achieve the best results. STRIP BASE should not be added to hot solutions. Use the recommended titration procedure to determine concentration and replenish as indicated. Perform this at the start of every shift or more frequently if production is heavy.
