CAROLYN Submitted by: Noel Anderson, Community Planning and Development Director COLE Ward 2 Recommended Council Action: That the City Council set a date of public hearing on the sale of city HAROLD owned property and publish an official notice pertinent to the requested sale. GETTY Ward3 Summary Statement: As you may recall the City acquired 332 Irving Street through the 657A process in 2010. The property has since been torn down and is available for sale. The remaining parcel of land is 39' QUENTIN x 135' or 5,265 sq. ft. The lot does not meet the current minimum lot width requirements of 50 ft, or the HART minim lot size of 6,000 sq ft but is considered a lot of record therefore making it a legal non -conforming Ward 4 lot. According to Black Hawk County, the land has an assessed value of $2,900. RON WELPER The City has received a request by Habitat for Humanity to purchase the parcel for $1.00. Habitat plans WEE Wards to combine an adjacent lot at with 332 Irving and build a new home on the lots. The lot is within the CURA District and within this district in order to sell property for a dollar the owner must build on the BOB lot so that taxes generated from the structure will pay the City's asking price for the lot within 8 years. GREENWOOLiI'he taxes generated form the new home will more than pay for the lot within the 8 years as spelled out in At -Large the Sale of City Owned Property Policy therefore, would meet the minimum requirements of the policy.
