ORDINANCE NO. 5075 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2007 CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, BY RE- PEALING SECTION 1, DEFINITIONS: PERSON, AND SUBSECTION (G), AU- THORIZED COLLECTORS, AND SUB- SECTION (J), VEHICLE REQUIRE- MENTS, OF SECTION 5, COLLECTION RULES AND REGULATIONS, OF CHAPTER 3, SOLID WASTE COLLEC- TION AND DISPOSAL, OF TITLE 4, PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY; AND ENACTING N LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION 1; DEFINITIONS: PERSON, AND SUBSECTION (G), AUTHORIZED COLLECTORS, AND SUBSECTION (J), VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS, OF SECTIONS COLLECTION RULES AND REGULATIONS, OF CHAPTER 3, LI LI S OSAL, F TIITLE 4,LID LLEI N AND DIPPUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY. CEL OFT HE CIDTY OF WATER OO, IOWA: That Section 1, Definitions: Person, and Subsection (G), Authorized Collectors, and Subsection (J), Vehicle Require- ments, of Section 5, Collection Rules and Regulations, of Chapter 3, Solid Waste Collection and Title 4, Public Health and Safety; of the e 007 Code of Ordinances of the City of W ater- loo, Iowa, be and the same is hereby repealed in its entirety; that a new Sec- tion 1, Definitions: Person,and Subsec- tion (G), Authorized Collectors, and Sub- section (J), Vehicle Requirements, of Section 5, Collection Rules and Regula- tions, of Chapter 3, Solid Waste Collec- tion and Disposal, of Title 4, Public Health and Safety, is hereby enacted in lieu thereof as follows: ✓+ 4-3-1; DEFINITIONS: PERSON: Each 'fndividlrak firm cdrpora tion, partnership or other entity, or any employee or agent thereof. 4-3-5: COLLECTION RULES AND REGULATIONS: G.Authorized Collectors: No person oth- er than the agents of the city or persons so authorized by it pursuant to Article A of this chapter shall collect or transport garbage, refuse or yard waste through or upon the streets or alleys of the city. J.Vehicle Requirements: Any person, including employees of the city, hauling trash, refuse, garbage, offal or other of- fensive substances in a vehicle of any kind over the streets of the city, shall equip the vehicle with a metal or canvas cover and shall keep such cover over the load carrying portion of the vehicle at all times, as necessary covto er shalltmaterial be of suf- ficient escaping. Th size to fully cover any refuse being carried in the vehicle and to keep the refuse I place on such vehicle. The ve- hicle constructed drippings or seepings from any refuse carried therein can escape from the vehicle. If any of the material falls off or blows off or out of the vehicle, the person hauling the same shall promptly clean up all of such materials.
