Submitted by: Chris Western -Planner II Recommended City Council Action: To table request to allow staff to develop a policy for City Council adoption to address requests by mobile vendor operators to utilize city owned property. Summary Statement Mr. Lindsey operates a hot dog vending cart and is asking for permission to operate his business on city owned property free of charge. The hours of operation would be Friday and Saturday from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Staff recommends that the request be tabled to allow time to develop a policy to address such requests. After researching current city codes staff learned that there is no policy in place for these types of requests. Staff is currently researching cities that have existing Mobile Vender Licensing policies to assist in developing one for the City of Waterloo.
