AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2644, KNOWN AS THE TRAFFIC ORDINANCE OF
THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, BY REPEALING SUBSECTION (2) OF SECTION 543
ENTITLED "THRU STREETS" AND SUBSECTIONS (9) , (48) , (49) , (61) , (62) , (63) ,
AND (64) OF SECTION 541 ENTITLED "INCREASING SPEED LIMITS IN CERTAIN AREAS",
AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF NEW SUBSECTION (2) OF SECTION 543 ENTITLED
"THRU STREETS" AND NEW SUBSECTIONS (9) , (9a) , (48) , (49) , (61) , (62) AND
(64) OF SECTION 541 ENTITLED "INCREASING SPEED LIMITS IN CERTAIN AREAS".
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa:
That Subsection (2) of Section 543 entitled "Thru Streets" and Subsections (9) ,
(48) , (49) , (61) , (62) , (63) , and (64) of Section 541 entitled "Increasing Speed
Limits in Certain Areas", of Ordinance No. 2644, known as the Traffic Ordinance,
are hereby repealed; that new Subsection (2) of Section 543 entitled "Thru Streets"
and new Subsections (9) , (9a) , (48) , (49) , (61) , (62) , and (64) of Section 541
entitled "Increasing Speed Limits in Certain Areas", are hereby enacted as follows:
SECTION 543 THRU STREETS
(2) Airline Highway, West Logan Avenue to west corporate limits
SECTION 541 INCREASING SPEED LIMITS IN CERTAIN AREAS
(9) Broadway Street - from Airline Highway to Longfellow Avenue 55 mph
(9a) Broadway Street - from Longfellow Avenue to Grandview Avenue 50 mph
(48) Iowa Highway 412 also known as San Marnan Drive K from the
junction of Sergeant Road also known as U. S. Highway 63 South to
1/2 miles East of Hammond Avenue 55 mph
(49) Iowa Highway 412 also known as San Marnan Drive - from 1/2
mile East of Hammond Avenue to the junction of LaPorte Road 40 mph
(61) LaPorte Road also known as U. S. Highway 218 - from the southerly
corporate limits to Grimm Street 50 mph
(62) LaPorte Road also known as U. S. Highway 218 - from Grimm Street
to junction of Iowa Highway 412 40 mph
(63) Repealed
(64) LaPorte Road also known as U. S. Highway 218 - from Iowa Highway
412 to Washington Street 35 mph
