AN ORDINANCE CREATING A ZONING COMMISSION IN THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA AND PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS
THEREOF:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO,
IOWA:
SEC.1 . CREATED POWERS
There is hereby created a Zoning Commission for the City
of Waterloo, Iowa which commission shall have the powers
granted in Chapter 414, Code of Iowa, 1973, and all acts
amendatory thereto.
SEC.2. COMPOSITION: APPOINTMENT AND QUALIFICATIONS OF
MEMBERS
The City Zoning Commission shall consist of nine (9)
members, who shall be citizens of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, who shall not hold any elective office in the
municipal government, and who shall be appointed by
the Mayor, subject to the approval of the Council.
SEC.3 . TERM OF OFFICE OF MEMBERS
The term of office of the members of the City Zoning Com-
mission shall be five (5) years, except that of the members
first named, one (1) shall serve for one (1) year, two (2)
for two (2) years, two (2) for three (3) years, two (2) for
four (4) years and two (2) for five (5) years.
SEC A. FILLING VACANCIES
If any vacancy shall exist on the City Zoning Commission
caused by resignation or otherwise, the Mayor shall appoint
a successor for the residue of the unexpired term, subject to
the approval of the Council.
