AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.-2-664444,, MOWN AS THE TRAFFIC
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, BE REPEALING SECTION 219,
TURNING LEFT AT INTERSECTION, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF NEW SECTION
219, LEFT TURNS - YIELDING.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa:
That Section 219 entitled "Turning Left at Intersection", of Ordinance No. 2644,
known as the Traffic Ordinance is hereby repealed; that new Section 219 entitled
"Left Turns - Yielding", is hereby enacted as follows:
Section 219 LEFT TURNS - YIELDING
The driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left within an intersection
or into an alley, private road or driveway shall yield the right of way to all
vehicles approaching from the opposite direction which are within the intersection
or so close thereto as to constitute an immediate hazard, then said driver, having
so yielded and having given a signal when and as required by this ordinance, may
make such left turn.
