City Wide Clean-up Policy Changes:
1. Rate changes:
• Raise rate from $1.00 to $2.00 per load.
• Raise rate for tires from $1.00 to $3.00 per tire
To reflect our disposal cost with no semi or tractor tires allowed.
• Limit to 3 major appliances each for $1.00 each, $10.00 for any additional major
appliances, (major defines as stoves, refrigerators, freezers, washers and dryers)
2. Requirements:
• Require all loose trash should be bagged.
• Require all loads to be covered.
(Stop trash from blowing when coming to the plant) or pay a penalty as Black
Hawk County landfill charges.
• Landlords should be considered a business and not allowed to dump.
3. Quotes:
• Permission to seek quotes for removal and sale of ALL scrap metal associated with
Waste Management Services Department.
• Require persons interested to be a licensed salvager in Waterloo and proof of
insurance. Salvager to establish rate to be paid to the city.
