RESOLUTION NO. 2008-730
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REQUEST OF DEER
CREEK DEVELOPMENT LLC FOR A SITE PLAN
AMENDMENT TO THE "B-P" BUSINESS PARK DISTRICT
FOR PROPERTY GENERALLY LOCATED AT THE
SOUTHEAST CORNER OF GREYHOUND DRIVE AND THE
FUTURE ATHENS DRIVE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A
13, 000 SQUARE FOOT BUILDING FOR EXPANSION AND
RELOCATION OF THE WATERLOO SOCIAL SECURITY
OFFICE IN THE CITY OF WATERLOO, BLACK HAWK
COUNTY, IOWA.
WHEREAS, it has been proposed that the Council of the City
of Waterloo, Iowa, approve a site plan amendment to the "B-P"
Business Park District for property generally located at the
southeast corner of Greyhound Drive and the future Athens Drive
for the development of a 13, 000 square foot office building for
expansion and relocation of the Waterloo Social Security Office,
legally described as follows :
That part of the West 4 of the Northeast Fractional 1,4
of Section 6-88-13, Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa
described as follows :
Beginning at the intersection of the East right-of-way
line of Greyhound Drive and the South right-of-way line
of West Ridgeway Avenue; thence Easterly along said
South right-of-way line to the West right-of-way line
of Titan Trail; thence Southerly along said West right-
of-way line of Titan Trail a distance of 717 . 63 feet;
thence South 89031' 10" West a distance of 1481 . 04 feet,
more or less, to said East right-of-way line of
Greyhound Drive; thence Northerly along said East
right-of-way line a distance of 662 . 91 feet, more or
less, to the point of beginning; and also Lot 1, Deer
Creek Plat No. 2, all in the City of Waterloo, Black
Hawk County, Iowa .
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on August 25, 2008, at
5 : 30 p.m. , at City Hall Council Chambers, Waterloo, Iowa, as
provided by law, by the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, on
the proposal to approve said above mentioned site plan amendment,
and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Council that said site
plan amendment should be approved as proposed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that a site plan amendment to the "B-P"
Business Park District for property generally located at the
southeast corner of Greyhound Drive and the future Athens Drive
for the development of a 13, 000 square foot office building for
expansion and relocation of the Waterloo Social Security Office,
be and the same is hereby approved.
