RESOLUTION NO. 2020-319
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF CONTRACT TO
PETERS CONSTRUCTION CORP. OF WATERLOO, IOWA, IN
THE AMOUNT OF $939,810, AND APPROVING THE
CONTRACT, BONDS AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE,
IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FIVE SULLIVAN BROTHERS
CONVENTION CENTER EXHIBITION HALL CEILING
RENOVATION PROJECT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Peters Construction Corp., of Waterloo, Iowa, submitted a bid in the amount
of $939,810, in conjunction with the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center Exhibition Hall
Ceiling Renovation Project, and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Peters Construction Corp., submitted a written contract, bond and certificate
of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project with
Resolution No. 2020-301, after public hearing on May 4, 2020, in conjunction with the Five
Sullivan Brothers Convention Center Exhibition Hall Ceiling Renovation Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Peters Construction Corp., in the amount of $939,810, in
conjunction with the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center Exhibition Hall Ceiling
Renovation Project, is hereby awarded.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Peters
Construction Corp., in conjunction with the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center
Exhibition Hall Ceiling Renovation Project are hereby approved, and the Mayor and City Clerk
are authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 11th day of May 2020.
