RESOLUTION APPROVING A REQUEST FROM LARSON
CONSTRUCTION CO., INC., FOR A TEMPORARY VARIANCE
TO THE TRUCK EMBARGO ON WILLISTON AVENUE FROM
WASHINGTON STREET TO W. 11TH STREET AND ON E.
RIDGEWAY AVENUE FROM W. 11TH STREET TO W. 9TH
STREET, COMMENCING MAY 12, 2020 THROUGH JUNE 30,
2020, TO ALLOW FOR THE TRANSPORT OF FILL MATERIAL
FROM FRIENDSHIP VILLAGE TO THE LOWELL SCHOOL
CONSTRUCTION SITE.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa Traffic Code Section 582, Truck Traffic Prohibited
on Certain Streets; Section (60) Williston Avenue places an embargo on truck traffic on Williston
Avenue, and
WHEREAS, Larson Construction Co. has requested a temporary variance, to the truck
embargo on Williston Avenue from Washington Street to W. 1 lth Street and on E. Ridgeway
Avenue from W. 1 lth Street to W. 9th Street, commencing May 12, 2020 through June 30, 2020, to
allow for the transport of fill material from Friendship Village to the Lowell School Construction
Site.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that a variance to Section 582, of Ordinance No. 4602, as amended, Traffic
Ordinance, be granted as requested.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 11th day of May 2020.
