RESOLUTION NO. 2008-959
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WATERLOO, IOWA, SUPPORTING WHITMAN POINT
LIMITED PARTNERSHIP' S APPLICATION FOR LOW
INCOME HOUSING TAX CREDIT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa has been informed by
Whitman Point Limited Partnership that a Low-Income Housing Tax
Credit Application (will or has been) filed with the Iowa
Finance Authority for the development of affordable rental
housing to be located on Flammang Drive, Waterloo, Iowa with a
legal description as follows :
All of Lot Five (5) in Fortune Addition, Waterloo,
Black Hawk County, Iowa, and all of Lots Eight (8) ,
Nine (9) , Seventeen (17) , Eighteen (18) , Nineteen
(19) , Twenty (20) , Twenty-one (21) , and Twenty-two
(22) in Richland Park, Waterloo, Black Hawk County,
Iowa, and all of lots Sixteen (16) , and Twenty-three
(23) and vacated Camelot Drive in said Richland Park,
lying Westerly of a line which is parallel with and
Forty-five (45 . 00) feet normally distant from and
Westerly of the East line and Southerly extension
thereof, of said Lot Sixteen (16) , all in the City of
Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa .
WHEREAS, this housing project will contain 53 units, and
WHEREAS, the units will be targeted to affordable assisted
living for elderly seniors, and
WHEREAS, the project will be a new construction, and
WHEREAS, the project is a good infill development project,
provides for needed senior housing to accommodate the needs of
the aging Waterloo citizenry, helping to keep seniors in the
community, while also opening up new affordable homes for new
residents, and
WHEREAS, the project provides help for affordable assisted
living in the area, to compliment market rate assisted living
facilities, and serves a special needs population, and
WHEREAS, the property will have the following amenities :
1 . Common areas for kitchen and dining room.
2 . Two multi-purpose rooms, computer area, salon,
lounge area, and private dining room.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CIT) OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that we support and approve the

development of the aforesaid housing in our community, subject
N to city ordinances and the building permit process . This
,resolution is effective until December 31, 2008 . In the event

,tki-at any of the characteristics mentioned above should change
o *ri-or to the issuance of a building permit, this resolution is
