RESOLUTION NO. 2008-49
RESOLUTION FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE OF
HEARING AND NOTICE TO BE GIVEN ON THE SALE
AND CONVEYANCE OF A PORTION OF THE EXISTING
PARKING LOT BOUNDED BY EAST 6" STREET,
LAFAYETTE STREET AND SYCAMORE STREET TO BLACK
HAWK COUNTY AS FEBRUARY 11, 2008, AT 5 : 30
P.M. IN CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS, WATERLOO,
IOWA AND INSTRUCTING THE CITY CLERK TO
PUBLISH THE NOTICE OF HEARING.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA,
AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1 . That the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa
shall meet at City Hall Council Chambers in the City of Waterloo,
Iowa at 5 : 30 p.m. on the 11th day of February, 2008, for the
purpose of considering and acting upon a proposal to sell and
convey a portion of the existing parking lot bounded by East 6th
Street, Lafayette Street and Sycamore Street owned by the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, to Black Hawk County, and legally described as
follows :
Parcel "K"
That part of the Lots Nos . 2 and 3 in Block No. 16,
Original Plat of Waterloo (East Side) , in the City of
Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa, described as
follows :
Beginning at the most Northerly corner of said
Block No. 16, point being a found "mag" nail in A. C. C.
pavement;
thence South 4949'-�' East along the Northeasterly
line of said Block No. 16 a distance of 110 . 9 feet to a
point being 25 . 0 feet distant Northwesterly, measured
at right angles, from the centerline of the main track
of the Union Pacific Railroad (formerly the Chicago and
North Western Transportation Company, formerly the
Chicago Great Western Railway Company) , point being a
found '-�" rebar with license #16264 ;
thence South 40°06' West parallel with said
centerline a distance of 115 . 0 feet to a set "mag" nail
in A. C. C. pavement;
thence North 490491x' West a distance of 110 . 7 feet
to the Northwesterly line of said Block No. 16;
thence North 390581x' East along said Northwesterly
line a distance of 115 . 0 feet to the point of
beginning. Contains 12, 745 ft . z
Subject to easements of record and not of record.
Note : Bearings are assumed;
for $70, 000 . 00, plus costs .
Section 2 . That the City Clerk is hereby directed to
publish notice of the time and place of said hearing in the
Waterloo Courier.
