Using the Goal Evaluation Worksheet:
IDM has developed the goal evaluation worksheet for individual reflection and as a tool to
guide your discussion. It is suggested that council members first complete the worksheet as
individuals and then goal by goal:
1. Tally the ratings;
a. If a majority have rated the goal with a "1" (satisfied), move to the next goal;
b. If a majority have rated the goal with a "2" (not satisfied);
i. Each unsatisfied council member shall share their reasoning for dissatisfaction and
the goal components they wish to see changed and their recommended goal
rephrasing;
ii. After reasons for dissatisfaction are given, those council members who are satisfied
shall have the opportunity to explain why they are satisfied;
iii. Discussion can follow;
iv. If agreement on wording changes is not achieved verbally,the initial goal and each
proposed rewording can be voted on in a run-off fashion until a majority agrees to
one goal statement;
2. Repeat for each goal
