RESOLUTION NO. 2020-351
RESOLUTION APPROVING EXPERIENCE WATERLOO
(CVB) BOARD RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FUNDING IN
THE EVENT/CAPITAL HOTEL-MOTEL TAX GRANT FUNDS
FOR FY21.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that
the Convention & Visitors Bureau Board’s recommendations for FY 2020 funding, for fourteen
(14) applications in the total amount of $186,267.00, are hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that if the events are not able to be held due to COVID-
19, the funds will not be available to the event hosts. If there are material changed to their event,
including change in orientation resulting in minimal hotel overnights, i.e. an event goes “virtual”,
the event will not be eligible for this funding. Any unused funds will go back into the hotel-
motel reserve fund, to be used for mini-grant applications or other tourism-related uses deemed
necessary by the City of Waterloo.
