RESOLUTION NO. 2007-662
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT TO THE CITY
OF WATERLOO, IOWA COMPREHENSIVE PLAN.
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on August 13, 2007, at
5: 30 p.m. in the Council Chambers in City Hall, Waterloo, Iowa,
as provided by law, by the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa
on the proposed amendment to the City of Waterloo, Iowa
Comprehensive Pian, including multiple changes to the Future Land
Use Map, and
WHEREAS, said proposed amendment, including multiple changes
to the Future Land Use Map, is to be considered an amendment to
the Cary of Waterloo; Iowa. Comprehensive Plan; dated February 3;
2003 because of its impact on land use, development, and/or
redevelopment in the community, and
WHEREAS, said proposed amendment to the City of Waterloo.
Iowa Comprehensive Plan, including multiple changes to the Future
Land Use Map, will be implemented using the City of Waterloo,
Iowa zoning, subdivision, and urban renewal tools and
regulations, and municipal policies and procedures, and
WHEREAS, an integral part of the development of the proposed
amendment to the City of Waterloo, Iowa Comprehensive. Plan;
including multiple changes to the Future Land Use Map, provided
opportunities for public input, and
WHEREAS, the proposed amendment, including multiple changes
to the Future Land Use Map, and its relationship to the City of
Waterloo, Iowa Comprehensive Plan has been the subject of, or a
discussion item on the agenda of numerous public meetings, work
sessions, and presentations, and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa Comprehensive Plan is a
primary tool of the City of Waterloo; Iowa Planning, Programming
and Zoning Commission; Board of Adjustment; and City of Waterloo,
Iowa staff, and
WHEREAS, said proposed amendment to the City of Waterloo,
Iowa Comprehensive Plan, including multiple changes to the Future
Land Use Map, is in the best interests of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, to approve and adopt the proposed
amendment, including multiple changes to the Future Land Use Map,
as an amendment to the City of Waterloo, Iowa Comprehensive Plan
and also hereby replace any conflicting plans or information
previously contained in the Comprehensive Plan.
