AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF PUBLIC
ALLEY IN BLOCK 18 OF LINDEN PLACE, OTHERWISE
KNOWN AS THE FORMER LAFAYETTE SCHOOL SITE,
LOCATED AT 2265 LAFAYETTE STREET IN THE CITY
OF WATERLOO, BLACK HAWK COUNTY, IOWA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO,
IOWA, as follows:
That part of the 16 foot wide public alley in Block 18
of Linden Place lying Northerly of a line drawn between
the Southeasterly corner of Lot 7 of said Block 18 and
the Southwesterly corner of Lot 8 of said Block 18 and
lying Southerly of a line drawn between the Northeast
corner of Lot 6 of said Block 18 and lying Southerly of
a line drawn between the Northeast corner of Lot 6 of
said Block 18 and the Northwesterly corner of Lot 11 of
said Block 18, City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County,
Iowa, with reservation of a utility easement over,
under and upon the above described area;
shall be, and the same is hereby vacated, subject to the
following condition:
1. That an easement is retained for utility purposes over
the vacated alley portion. This will allow for
potential servicing of sewer from the rear of future
lots to be developed.
