RESOLUTION NO. 2020-492 RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIANCE TO NOISE ORDINANCE REQUEST FROM PASSION ANTHONY, ON BEHALF OF JUNETEENTH IN JULY, FOR THE ANNUAL CELEBRATION TO BE HELD IN LINCOLN PARK ON JULY 3, 2020, FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M., INCLUDING USE OF A P.A. SYSTEM AND STREET CLOSURE OF PARK AVENUE BETWEEN FRANKLIN AND MULBERRY. WHEREAS, Passion Anthony, on behalf of Juneteenth in July, is requesting a variance to the Noise Ordinance on July 3, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., in conjunction with its annual Juneteenth celebration, including use of a P.A. system and street closures of Park Avenue and 4th Street between Franklin and Mulberry Streets, and WHEREAS, said event will exceed the limits of Ordinance No. 3094, Noise Ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of Passion Anthony, on behalf of Juneteenth in July, for a variance to the Noise Ordinance, on July 3, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., in conjunction with its annual Juneteenth celebration, including use of a P.A. system and street closures of Park Avenue and 4th Street between Franklin and Mulberry Streets, be granted.
