RESOLUTION NO. 2020-508
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO PIRC-
TOBIN CONSTRUCTION INC., OF ALBURNETT, IOWA IN
THE AMOUNT OF $1,926,434.50, AND APPROVING THE
CONTRACT, BONDS, AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE
IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2020 LEVERSEE ROAD
SANITARY SEWER AND WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS
PROJECT, CONTRACT NO. 987, AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Pirc-Tobin Construction Inc., of Alburnett, Iowa, submitted a bid in the
amount of $1,926,434.50, in conjunction with the FY 2020 Leversee Road Sanitary Sewer and
Water Main Improvements Project, Contract No. 987, and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Pirc-Tobin Construction Inc., submitted a written contract, bond and
certificate of insurance, per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project
with Resolution No. 2020-494, after public hearing on June 29, 2020, in conjunction with the
FY 2020 Leversee Road Sanitary Sewer and Water Main Improvements Project, Contract No.
987.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Pirc-Tobin Construction Inc., in the amount of $1,926,434.50, in
conjunction with the FY 2020 Leversee Road Sanitary Sewer and Water Main
Improvements Project, Contract No. 987, is hereby awarded to Pirc-Tobin Construction,
Inc.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Pirc-Tobin Construction
Inc., in conjunction with the FY 2020 Leversee Road Sanitary Sewer and Water Main
Improvements Project, Contract No. 987, are hereby approved.
That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf
of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of July 2020.
