STATUS CODE DESCRIPTION
FAIL 1010.1.9 - Door operations Except as specifically permitted by this section, egress doors shall be readily
openable from the egress side without the use of a key or special knowledge or
effort.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Rear door and jamb still not fixed. House
can not be secured.
FAIL 1031.7 - Emergency escape
and rescue openings
Required emergency escape and rescue openings shall be maintained in accordance
with the code in effect at the time of construction, and the following: Required
emergency escape and rescue openings shall be operational from the inside of the
room without the use of keys or tools. Bars, grilles, grates or similar devices are
allowed to be placed over emergency escape and rescue openings provided the
minimum net clear opening size complies with the code that was in effect at the time
of construction and such devices shall be releasable or removable from the inside
without the use of a key, tool or force greater than that which is required for normal
operation of the emergency escape and rescue opening.

FAIL 1103.9 - Carbon monoxide
alarms
Existing Group I-1, I-2, I-4 and R occupancies shall be equipped with carbon monoxide
alarms in accordance with Section 915, except that the carbon monoxide alarms shall
be allowed to be solely battery operated.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: CO detectors are needed in vicinity of the
bedrooms.
FAIL 605.1 - Abatement of
electrical hazards
Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions
in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the responsible code official.
Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or
damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Electric outlet needs outlet cover in panel
area. Open exposed electric wire in mechanical room needs terminated. Porch light
has exposed wires. Electric outlet pulling out of wall in a bedroom.

multiple-station smoke
alarms
Listed single- and multiple- station smoke alarms complying with UL 217 shall be
installed in accordance with Sections 907.2.11.1 through 907.2.11.6 and NFPA 72.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Smoke detectors needed in each bedroom,
outside of the bedrooms and in basement.
FAIL 915.4 - Carbon monoxide
alarms
Carbon monoxide alarms shall comply with Sections 915.4.1 through 915.4.3.

FAIL R2 - Unsafe Equipment Was the presence of unsafe equipment noted during the inspection? Equipment may
include boilers, heating equipment, elevator, moving stairways, electrical wiring, and
flammable liquid containers. (IPMC 108.1.2)

FAIL R4 - Exterior Property Areas Is the exterior property area maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition? This
includes grading and drainage, sidewalks and driveways, weeds, and pest
infestations. (IPMC 302)

FAIL R5 - Exterior Structure Is the exterior of the structure maintained in good repair, structurally sound and
sanitary state? (IPMC 304)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Roof and sofit needs repaired.
FAIL R6 - Interior Structure Has the interior of the structure and equipment inside been maintained in good
repair, structurally sound, and in a sanitary condition? (IPMC 305)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Water heater flue not affixed to draft hood.
Flue not installed into chimney securely. Storage in mechanical room needs
attention. Storage can not be within 3 ft of appliances. Need covers on bath vent and
dryer vent. Washing machine draining into sump pump pit. Shower in basement is
leaking. main floor bathroom walls have potential mold. Wall paper pulling away from
wall. Medicine cabinet not in wall over sink. Rear deck is unsafe and needs replaced.
Carpet in basement is damaged by water and carpet is currently wet. Affected areas
potentially can cause mold to form.

Unsafe Conditions
Were any unsafe conditions noted during the interior inspection?(IPMC 305.1.1)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Electrical needs checked. Potential mold in
bathroom and basement.
FAIL R6.C. - Mechanical Eqiupment Are mechanical appliances properly installed and maintained in good working
condition? (IPMC 603.1)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Water heater flue and draft hood.
FAIL R6.D. - Receptacles Every habitable space in a dwelling shall contain not less than two separate and
remote receptacle outlets. Every laundry area shall contain not less than one
grounding-type receptacle or a receptacle with a GFCI. Every bathroom shall contain
not less than one receptacle. Any new bathroom receptacle shall have GFCI
protection. All receptacles shall have the appropriate faceplate cover. (IPMC 605.2)

GENERAL NOTES
BARRY STRATTON - 10/24/2019 @ 10:54 Rear deck needs removed and replaced. Decking is rotten and potential to fall through
decking. Supports rotten and deck is not safe.
BARRY STRATTON - 10/24/2019 @ 10:55 Garage base plates rotten from water damage. Standing water in garage. Walls
damaged from water.
