FAIL 1010.1.9 - Door operations Except as specifically permitted by this section, egress doors shall be readily
openable from the egress side without the use of a key or special knowledge or
effort.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Fire doors shall remain closed and not held
in the open position.
FAIL 1103.9 - Carbon monoxide
alarms
Existing Group I-1, I-2, I-4 and R occupancies shall be equipped with carbon monoxide
alarms in accordance with Section 915, except that the carbon monoxide alarms shall
be allowed to be solely battery operated.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments:
FAIL 506.1 - Where required Where access to or within a structure or an area is restricted because of secured
openings or where immediate access is necessary for life-saving or fire-fighting
purposes, the fire code official is authorized to require a key box to be installed in an
approved location. The key box shall be of an approved type listed in accordance with
UL 1037, and shall contain keys to gain necessary access as required by the fire code
official.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Need to install knox boxes on secured
buildings.
FAIL 906.1 - Where required Portable fire extinguishers shall be installed in all of the following locations: 1. In new
and existing Group A, B, E, F, H, I, M, R-1, R-2, R-4 and S occupancies. Exception: In
Group R-2 occupancies, portable fire extinguishers shall be required only in locations
specified in Items 2 through 6 where each dwelling unit is provided with a portable
fire extinguisher having a minimum rating of 1-A: 10-B: C. 2. Within 30 feet (9144 mm)
of commercial cooking equipment. 3. In areas where flammable or combustible
liquids are stored, used or dispensed. 4. On each floor of structures under
construction, except Group R-3 occupancies, in accordance with Section 3315.1. 5.
Where required by the sections indicated in Table 906.1. 6. Special-hazard areas,
including but not limited to laboratories, computer rooms and generator rooms,
where required by the fire code official.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Fire extinguishers are missing on each
level. Install extinguishers on each level.

FAIL 907.2.11 - Single- and
multiple-station smoke
alarms
Listed single- and multiple- station smoke alarms complying with UL 217 shall be
installed in accordance with Sections 907.2.11.1 through 907.2.11.6 and NFPA 72.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Smoke detectors on each level are not
working. These smoke detectors need replaced/repaired ASAP. Smoke detectors are
to be installed in each unit in building to meet code requirements. Smoke detectors
in each bedroom, outside of the bedrooms. CO detectors needed in vicinity of the
bedrooms.
FAIL 915.4 - Carbon monoxide
alarms
Carbon monoxide alarms shall comply with Sections 915.4.1 through 915.4.3.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments:
FAIL R6 - Interior Structure Has the interior of the structure and equipment inside been maintained in good
repair, structurally sound, and in a sanitary condition? (IPMC 305)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Holes in walls need repaired. Dryer vent
needs cleaned and area behind dryer. Garbage in laundry room needs removed.
FAIL R6.C. - Mechanical Eqiupment Are mechanical appliances properly installed and maintained in good working
condition? (IPMC 603.1)
