STATUS CODE DESCRIPTION
FAIL 1014.3 - Handrail graspability Required handrails shall comply with Section .1 or shall provide equivalent
graspability. Exception: In Group R-3 occupancies; within dwelling units in Group R-2
occupancies; and in Group U occupancies that are accessory to a Group R-3
occupancy or accessory to individual dwelling units in Group R-2 occupancies;
handrails shall be Type I in accordance with Section 1014.3.1, Type II in accordance
with Section 1014.3.2 or shall provide equivalent graspability.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Handrails are needed to be installed on
basement stairs, and stairway to upper level. Rear deck also needs handrails after
deck is repaired/replaced.
FAIL 1031.7 - Emergency escape
and rescue openings
Required emergency escape and rescue openings shall be maintained in accordance
with the code in effect at the time of construction, and the following: Required
emergency escape and rescue openings shall be operational from the inside of the
room without the use of keys or tools. Bars, grilles, grates or similar devices are
allowed to be placed over emergency escape and rescue openings provided the
minimum net clear opening size complies with the code that was in effect at the time
of construction and such devices shall be releasable or removable from the inside
without the use of a key, tool or force greater than that which is required for normal
operation of the emergency escape and rescue opening.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Lower level used as a bedroom without
having egress windows.
FAIL 605.1 - Abatement of
electrical hazards
Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions
in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the responsible code official.
Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or
damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: All switches and outlets need approved
covers. Electric service panel needs cover on pane. Light fixtures need approved
covers.
FAIL 907.2.11 - Single- and
multiple-station smoke
alarms
Listed single- and multiple- station smoke alarms complying with UL 217 shall be
installed in accordance with Sections 907.2.11.1 through 907.2.11.6 and NFPA 72.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Each bedroom shall have smoke detector
and also one outside of the bedrooms. Smoke detector is also needed in basement.

flammable liquid containers. (IPMC 108.1.2)

sanitary state? (IPMC 304)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Deck still not repaired/replaced.
FAIL R6 - Interior Structure Has the interior of the structure and equipment inside been maintained in good
repair, structurally sound, and in a sanitary condition? (IPMC 305)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Kitchen cabinets, bath floor, kitchen floor,
doors & jambs, holes in walls, interior doors and trim need repaired.

Unsafe Conditions
Were any unsafe conditions noted during the interior inspection?(IPMC 305.1.1)

FAIL R6.C. - Mechanical Eqiupment Are mechanical appliances properly installed and maintained in good working
condition? (IPMC 603.1)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Water heater flue and register vents.
FAIL R6.D. - Receptacles Every habitable space in a dwelling shall contain not less than two separate and
remote receptacle outlets. Every laundry area shall contain not less than one
grounding-type receptacle or a receptacle with a GFCI. Every bathroom shall contain
not less than one receptacle. Any new bathroom receptacle shall have GFCI
protection. All receptacles shall have the appropriate faceplate cover. (IPMC 605.2)
