FAIL 1010.1.9 - Door operations Except as specifically permitted by this section, egress doors shall be readily
openable from the egress side without the use of a key or special knowledge or
effort.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Rear screen door.
FAIL 605.1 - Abatement of
electrical hazards
Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions
in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the responsible code official.
Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or
damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Outlets in living room and kitchen are not
grounded. Missing fuse in panel in basement. Taped up romex wire in basement.
Extension cords in use. Appliances need direct connection to outlets. Electric in
garage is unsafe and connection to power is coming from extension cord running
from house to garage. Need 3 ft clearance to electric panel.
FAIL 906.1 - Where required Portable fire extinguishers shall be installed in all of the following locations: 1. In new
and existing Group A, B, E, F, H, I, M, R-1, R-2, R-4 and S occupancies. Exception: In
Group R-2 occupancies, portable fire extinguishers shall be required only in locations
specified in Items 2 through 6 where each dwelling unit is provided with a portable
fire extinguisher having a minimum rating of 1-A: 10-B: C. 2. Within 30 feet (9144 mm)
of commercial cooking equipment. 3. In areas where flammable or combustible
liquids are stored, used or dispensed. 4. On each floor of structures under
construction, except Group R-3 occupancies, in accordance with Section 3315.1. 5.
Where required by the sections indicated in Table 906.1. 6. Special-hazard areas,
including but not limited to laboratories, computer rooms and generator rooms,
where required by the fire code official.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Need fire extinguisher in unit.
FAIL 907.2.11 - Single- and
multiple-station smoke
alarms
Listed single- and multiple- station smoke alarms complying with UL 217 shall be
installed in accordance with Sections 907.2.11.1 through 907.2.11.6 and NFPA 72.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Need smoke detectors in each bedroom,
outside of the bedrooms and in basement.

alarms
Carbon monoxide alarms shall comply with Sections 915.4.1 through 915.4.3.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: CO detector is needed in vicinity of the
bedrooms.
FAIL R2 - Unsafe Equipment Was the presence of unsafe equipment noted during the inspection? Equipment may
include boilers, heating equipment, elevator, moving stairways, electrical wiring, and
flammable liquid containers. (IPMC 108.1.2)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Plumbing backup in basement and egress
path obstructions.
FAIL R4 - Exterior Property Areas Is the exterior property area maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition? This
includes grading and drainage, sidewalks and driveways, weeds, and pest
infestations. (IPMC 302)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Electric to garage. Garage needs correct
sub panel and wiring to main panel.
FAIL R5 - Exterior Structure Is the exterior of the structure maintained in good repair, structurally sound and
sanitary state? (IPMC 304)

FAIL R6 - Interior Structure Has the interior of the structure and equipment inside been maintained in good
repair, structurally sound, and in a sanitary condition? (IPMC 305)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Water backup in basement from drain not
draining. Debris in basement and on rear porch needs removed. Egress paths
obstructed in both areas. Rear screen door hardware and jamb needs replaced.
Water filter for refrigerator is clamped off by vise-grip and leaks into basement.

Unsafe Conditions
Were any unsafe conditions noted during the interior inspection?(IPMC 305.1.1)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Egress paths blocked, electric issues, no
smoke detectors, no CO detectors.
FAIL R6.B. - Residential Heating Are dwellings provided with heating facilities capable of maintaining a room
temperature of 68F? (IPMC 602.2)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Need 3 ft clearance around furnace.
