STATUS CODE DESCRIPTION
FAIL 605.1 - Abatement of
electrical hazards
Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions
in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the responsible code official.
Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or
damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: SEU cable is deteriorated and cable is
unwinding. SEU cable needs replaced. Washing machine needs direct connection to
an outlet. Currently an extension cord is being used to provide electric to washer
from an outlet on opposite wall. Obtain licensed electric contractor to install new
service.
FAIL 906.1 - Where required Portable fire extinguishers shall be installed in all of the following locations: 1. In new
and existing Group A, B, E, F, H, I, M, R-1, R-2, R-4 and S occupancies. Exception: In
Group R-2 occupancies, portable fire extinguishers shall be required only in locations
specified in Items 2 through 6 where each dwelling unit is provided with a portable
fire extinguisher having a minimum rating of 1-A: 10-B: C. 2. Within 30 feet (9144 mm)
of commercial cooking equipment. 3. In areas where flammable or combustible
liquids are stored, used or dispensed. 4. On each floor of structures under
construction, except Group R-3 occupancies, in accordance with Section 3315.1. 5.
Where required by the sections indicated in Table 906.1. 6. Special-hazard areas,
including but not limited to laboratories, computer rooms and generator rooms,
where required by the fire code official.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Need updated fire extinguisher in unit.
FAIL 907.2.11 - Single- and
multiple-station smoke
alarms
Listed single- and multiple- station smoke alarms complying with UL 217 shall be
installed in accordance with Sections 907.2.11.1 through 907.2.11.6 and NFPA 72.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Smoke detectors are needed in each
bedroom, outside of the bedrooms, and in crawl space.
FAIL 915.4 - Carbon monoxide
alarms
Carbon monoxide alarms shall comply with Sections 915.4.1 through 915.4.3.
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: CO detector is needed in vicinity of the
bedrooms.

FAIL R4 - Exterior Property Areas Is the exterior property area maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition? This
includes grading and drainage, sidewalks and driveways, weeds, and pest
infestations. (IPMC 302)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Rear stairs from back door will need at
least a 3 ft landing at base of stairs. Currently blocks are in place at base of stairs and
are unstable. Roof drainage is compromised by debris in gutters. Clean out gutters
so water will drain from roof. Hose bib on outside of house will need replaced.
Shutoff is leaking at on/off valve.
FAIL R5 - Exterior Structure Is the exterior of the structure maintained in good repair, structurally sound and
sanitary state? (IPMC 304)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Roof drainage
FAIL R6 - Interior Structure Has the interior of the structure and equipment inside been maintained in good
repair, structurally sound, and in a sanitary condition? (IPMC 305)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Need transition strips on all entryway
doors to rooms. Bath floor needs replaced. Floor shall be maintained in good
condition. Screen door glass & frame needs replaced/repaired. Bath sink not stable
on pedestal. Bath tub surround not maintained in good condition and will need
replaced. Exhaust fan in bathroom is leaking. Roof possible leaking in vicinity of
exhaust. Bath fan shall exhaust to the exterior of the house.
FAIL R6.B. - Residential Heating Are dwellings provided with heating facilities capable of maintaining a room
temperature of 68F? (IPMC 602.2)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: New furnace installed was installed without
permits & inspections. License contractor will be required to obtain permits and get
proper inspections.
FAIL R6.C. - Mechanical Eqiupment Are mechanical appliances properly installed and maintained in good working
condition? (IPMC 603.1)
Inspector: BARRY STRATTON - Comments: Water heater was installed without permits
& inspections. Licensed contractor will be required to obtain permits and get
inspections.
